Week 2 Speedwork
Workout: Tempo Run
(1 mile warm-up, 20 minute tempo, 1 mile cool down)
More speedwork tonight. I ran with the Gazelle group again and hooked up with the J’s (Julie, Jason & Jeff) although to be honest I don’t know which one is Jeff and which one is Jason. Need to work that one out.
Anyway it was a little on the warm side so my legs were not as fresh as I would have liked. About lap #7 I was really rolling my eyes and not talking too much. But my ego kicked in and was not about to be left in the dust by The J’s. Once I got within a lap and a half of the end I knew I’d have enough gas.
The fun part was after the run I sat around and stretched a lot longer than I normally do. It was nice because there were a bunch of other runners just milling about. The sun was out, it didn’t seem so hot (since I was not running) and it just felt good to be outside.
I finally feel like I’m getting back into running form. I feel more focused and dedicated. I feel stronger and faster. I’m not in prime shape but am on my way.
