That Was Muggy!
Workout: 5 Mile Easy Run
Holy crap it was freaking muggy and hot. And something seemed off with Garmin because it was telling me I was running 9:30’s throughout the first mile when actually I was running 8:20’s. I couldn’t figure out why my legs seemed so dead and I was breathing so hard. I mean I knew the conditions were not good, but I couldn’t believe that it was slowing me down that much. So when I finished my first mile and Garmin chirped at me that I had just clipped off an 8:20 I thought…. That makes a little more sense and slowed down.
So tonight I decided to run my 4 mile route and just add and extra mile somewhere along the way. But as soon as I made it out to the boon-docks the flies were all over me and I ran through some valleys with no wind. I was channeling my run on the Paul Henry Trail last summer. It sucked! Just for a half mile or so but still… Note to self… the 4 miles route is called the 4 mile route for a reason. Do not add mileage through a fly infested, airless swamp valley.
But considering the weather was questionable I felt pretty good. It’s nice to be back on a program again. Good to be a little more consistent.
5.02 miles/43:30/avg 8:40
