Team Playmakers West

Workout: 6 Miles

Most Saturday mornings I will be running with the Gazelle folks but this week they are all running the Kalamazoo Classic on Saturday, and for whatever reason I didn’t feel inspired to run that race.  So… Plan B became Team Playmakers West.  This is a sub group that runs in Portland, MI on Saturday mornings.

I was a little out of sorts this morning, probably because I was out late last night drinking Long Island Ice Teas.  Although I seemed to wake up with no problem my decision making seemed a little flighty.  All in all I did well getting out the door but forgot both my Garmin and a watch.  That’s why the time at the bottom is an estimate.

The good news is I found the group pretty easily and there were a couple of people (Brenda & Steve) who said they ran 8:30’s and were doing 6 miles.  Plus Jane, who is sort of in charge of this group, had a map for everyone that spelled out the mileage.  So I know I ran 6, but the times is sort of guess.

I know I’ve said this before but I really did feel soft on today’s run.  Now it was a little warm but I really need to get back in the gym and work on my strength.  I was thinking today that I don’t think I could run another Marathon right now at any pace, which is bad.

The other thought is that I need to start getting up and running in the morning.  I like to run at night, but I think it’s going to be too hot.  We’ll see how it goes.

But I am pleased to be back on track and now just need to focus on getting stronger.

6.0 miles/51:00/avg 8:30 (I think)
