12 Miles By Mistake
Workout: 10 Mile Easy Run
Today was my longest run since the marathon. I wasn’t really worried about the distance but still wasn’t 100% confident. I ran with the Gazelle group this morning because they run on Saturdays and I am off to Wisconsin later today and will be lucky to get just 4 in tomorrow.
The other thing I like about the Gazelle group is that they run at 7:00am which is good because it’s been getting warm around here starting at 8:00. In my mind the earlier the better.
Unfortunately Garmin was misbehaving so in the middle of my run I wasn’t sure what my distance was. Gazelle had a marker out at 4.5 miles (I needed to turn around at 5 miles) so I kept running thinking I would stumble on a 5 mile marker. No such luck, and by the time I was convinced I had passed 5 miles I was on a loop and just decided to keep running. The net affect of all these things working against me was I accidentally ran an extra 2 miles… How the hell does that happen?
Anyway I felt like the run was good, The distance and pace were both very manageable and although I couldn’t pull off a marathon right now, I think a half at a good pace would be no problem.
12.06 miles/1:42:41/avg 8:30
